Do you use Ballarat maps and plans for your research?
We have good news for researchers. Ballarat physical maps and plans are scheduled for digitisation commencing early May 2018 at the Victorian Archive Centre in North Melbourne.
While the maps and plans are being digitised in North Melbourne, we will also be able to undertake some much needed archival documentation work supporting the collection.
This means that from May these records will not be available to order, and unfortunately we cannot provide a return date for the collection at this stage.
We will keep you advised via our website and social media channels or you can ask our Ballarat reading room staff for updates. If you require a map or plan from the collection during this time, please speak to our Ballarat reading room staff.
Maps & plans online
Note there are lots of Ballarat maps and plans already digitised on our website.
The ones to be assessed and digitised this time include the remainder of the lands and parish plans as well as some miscellaneous plans.
